Rebel Control evolved from the reggae jam sessions held Andy Baron and Richie Concrete in a disused shop in West London back in 2008 / 2009. These sessions attracted an amazing crew of musicians including Richie Stevens (Horace Andy/ Dennis Bovell ), Jeff Scantlebury (Soul 2 Soul / LKJ ), Winston Rollins (Aswad/Jamiroquai ) and spawned the album “Jammin At Rebel H.Q.” mixed by Mike Pelanconi (The Skints / Hollie Cook)

They also started playing live and soon began carving out a reputation as a serious live act playing festival and club dates in the UK and Europe as well as supporting and touring with a myriad of acts including reggae heavyweights Luciano, Mad Professor, Easy All Stars and also performing regularly for causes close to their hearts such as Love Music Hate Racism

Over the following years they posted new material on social media and had a number of releases including :All About The Love ep (2013), a limited edition 5 track cd and download, in 2015 they donated the track Healer to Strummerville A Go-Go #002 a fundraising album for The Joe Strummer Foundation and in 2017  Jungle Alliance Recordings released One Love, a collaboration with  drum n bass producer Laroque Their music has also been used in tv shows including River Cottage Cafe

After a brief hiatus during 2016 / 2017 the band were invited to record a new album with producer Graham ‘Grammo ‘ Pilgrim ( Alabama 3 , David Gray ) in Rome. They took the core musicians from the original shop jams out to Italy to record the rhythm tracks and then finished them off in various studios in London and Brighton  The album is built on solid, rootsy riddims topped with super tight horns and soulful vocals and digging deeper lyrically than ever before singing about subjects including friendship, consumerism and battling against the system

The album is due for release later this year and the band will be back on the road too having already confirmed a number of summer festival shows. Stay tuned to the bands social media for all the latest …
