Teshay Makeda, whose name means ‘Queen of the Sun’, is a South London born singer, songwriter and performer. Teshay is stylistically in a league of her own. Teshay’s Rastafarian upbringing has naturally rooted her eclectic musical style, which consists of Reggae, Soul and RnB.


In 2017, Teshay issued her debut EP, Teshay Makeda EP. This lead her to perform at Lambeth Country Show opening for the likes of Queen Omega and Bugle. This E.P. In the same year, Teshay’s international profile elevated when she performed at the infamous Rototom Sunsplash Festival in Spain, sharing the stage with reggae heavyweight Chronixx.

Teshay has performed at well-known London venues such as The Albany and the Old Vic.

She has worked with UK artists such as Stormzy, Rae and Bonkaz, where she featured on the latter two projects. She has also opened for Grammy nominated Freddie McGregor and in 2018 supported international talent Jah9 at her London concert. Having her first Headline Show debut at Hamstead Jazz Club sold out – she held her own leaving the crowd wanting more.
